Preamble

The long term goal of the Software Heritage initiative is to collect all publicly available software in source code form together with its development history, replicate it massively to ensure its preservation, and share it with everyone who needs it.

Software Heritage do this for multiple reasons, to preserve the scientific and technological knowledge embedded in software source code, to allow better software development and reuse for society and industry, to foster better science, by assembling the largest curated archive for software research, and building the infrastructure for preserving and sharing research software.

Building such a long-term common infrastructure is a challenging undertaking, and mirrors play a key role in maximizing the chances of success. ENEA has provided this mirror as part of their commitment to preserving and promoting open-source software, allowing the Software Heritage international network of mirrors to ensure accessibility and preservation of such software for future generations.
